My Song For Change 2014

Hi everyone,

This is my entry for My Song for a Change... It is one of my favourite songs and probably the most personal one. I wrote this song when I was struggling with accepting myself, It's about finding yourself, accepting who you truly are, and most of all, having hope and faith, because, you know, it's always darkest before the dawn, and you should never, never give up. I hope you'll enjoy it!

From despair to faith

You said you always wanted me to be happy
I only wanted you to be proud of me
I know the truth can no longer be disguised
But do I really want to face all these lies?

All the life I have dreamed of for so long
During all these years
All the castles I have built upon
This land of hopes and fears

I wish I could wake up and realize
That all of this was just a nightmare
But the shadow is surrounding me
And I stay here with my despair

I tried so hard to be this perfect girl
But everything is vanishing in my world

I know some people can take this easily
And I wish I could live like them
But everything is breaking around me
And I don’t feel quite the same

That I had to hide behind all these lies
